Don't let yourself down just because you have acne. You are the same person; you have not changed, you have the same charm, the same qualities and the same reputation. Nothing changes because of acne. Ya, ofcourse your face may be patched up of or full of small pimples, blemishes, your arms and shoulders may have marks or may be covered with zits, but hey, its ok. I mean, it happens it happens to everyone.

Perhaps could be a little more in your case. It was the same with me. My skin is very oily, no matter how many times I wash my face, what cosmetics i apply, its always, always oily I must say and so more prone to acne and pimples. But even after so much I have ultimately found a way, a method to get rid of these nasty monsters.

I can very well understand your desperation to get rid of this. But hey! don't be let down, don't think only and only about acne because there are always many other things to worry about. I am saying so , does'nt mean, I can't help you get rid of acne. NO DEFINITELY NO.

I am saying so because, you can follow my guidelines, my methods, things that worked wonders for me and actually help your skin. Contant worrying will not solve the problem, but may actually aggravate the condition.

I used to spend lots of time surfing the net to find solutions to get rid of acne, and have tried many of these to find what actually works and what not. and thought to share these with people who actually need help. You don't need to run here and there looking for treatments as I have all possible ways and solutions here at one place.

Acne revisited

Its been quite some time since I abandoned blogging. I never thought life can be so very bussy and demanding. But now I am back again, with what I enjoy doing. Coming back to our topic, I wanted to give you some real insights about acne and its occurence or say recurrence. Sometimes we notice that skin breakouts happen and dissappear on their own. How much ever care we take but these breakouts, pimples simpy don't stop, they keep coming back again and again. This is quite a nightmare as you never know whether tomorrow you will have a clear face or not. Doctors believe acne results from several related factors but the exact cause is unknown. One important factor is the increase in hormones called androgens (male sex hormones). The increase in hormones during puberty causes the enlargement of sebaceous glands thus making more sebum. Also, the hormonal changes related to pregnancy or starting or stopping birth control pills can cause acne. Hereditary or genetics is another factor that acne may be related to. Others believe that the tendency to develop acne is inherited from parents. Certain drugs including lithium and androgens are known to cause acne. Likewise, greasy cosmetics may alter the cells of the follicles and make them stick together thus producing a plug. People often blame chocolates and greasy foods but foods seem to have little effect on the development and course of acne in most people. Dirty skin is as well believed to cause the skin disorder; however, blackheads and other acne lesions are not caused by dirt. Lastly, stress does not cause acne. Obviously, there are several factors that can make the acne worse. The changing hormone levels in the adolescent girls and adult women 2 to 7 days before their menstrual period starts affect the worsening of the acne. Leaning on or rubbing the skin, environmental irritants, squeezing or picking at blemishes and hard scrubbing of the skin are other factors that could worsen acne conditions. It is always the goal of the treatment to heal existing lesions, stop new lesions from forming, prevent scarring as well as minimize the psychological stress and embarrassment caused by the disease. The drug treatment is to reduce several problems playing a part in causing acne; abnormal clumping of cells in the follicles, increased oil production, bacteria and inflammation. The doctor will recommend one of several over-the-counter (OTC) medicines or prescription medicines either topical (applied to the skin) or systematic (oral medication) depending on the extent of the person's acne. Remember proper personal care and hygeine can help you maintain a clear skin, but if your acne is really very very severe and not simply healing, visit a doctor.

Ways to conquer acne

Reports show that over 90 percent of all adolescents and almost 25 percent of all adults suffer from acne at some time. Acne affects males and females worldwide, regardless of nationality.
The most effective methods to combat acne include a combination of prevention and better skincare.
Here are some of the ways you can use to prevent and treat acne:
1. Exercise
Regular exercise can help fight acne by fighting off negative stress levels that can come from negative self-esteem and depression. But avoid wearing tight lycra and nylon exercise outfits. These synthetic fabrics that tend to trap body moisture and heat, creating an ideal environment for bacteria to grow. Stick to loose clothing made of cotton or natural blends, and keep your sports gear and equipment clean.
2. Safe Cosmetics
To avoid pore-clogging and skin irritations that can contribute to acne, use products labeled "noncomedogenic" or "oil-free." Opt for "hypo-allergenic" perfumes and cosmetics to avoid allergic reactions and skin irritation. Coal tar derivatives, carmine and heavy cream in blushes can cause reactions.
Shimmering facial colors can contain a flaky mineral called mica that can cause skin irritations and clog pores. Use a lip gloss with a matte finish for less pore-clogging. The more the shine, the more then comedogenic content and the more your pores can clog.
3. Healthy Diet
Studies show that diet does not play a role in either the cause or the treatment of acne. However, what is best for your body is best for your skin. So make sure you get enough vitamins, minerals and supplements that have been known and recommended to prevent and help conquer acne breakouts. These include
Vitamin A or Retinol (High doses are toxic)
Vitamin B Complex
Vitamin C
Vitamin E
L-Carnitine
Zinc
A good quality brand name multivitamin will probably have the recommended vitamins and minerals that you need to help with acne prevention. Drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day and making good, healthy dietary food choices.

HOME REMEDY FOR ACNE

Have you ever tried an acne home remedy?
Nowadays everyone is busy applying cosmetics and therapies to get rid of acne. While most of these can be used and help in some way or the other, but why to simply waste money on these when you can get the same or perhaps even better result using natural ingredients lying on your kichen shelf.
The best thing about these home remedies are that they are all natural, so you don’t have to worry about the possible side effects. There are multitudes of products available right from your kitchen that can be used as an acne home remedy.
You might be surprised at how helpful these acne home remedies can be. An acne home remedy may be more effective than you thought.
Homemade acne remedies can be as easy to put together as slicing a lemon. The astringent properties of this fruit make it a wonderful acne home remedy. Simply rub a slice of lemon over your skin before you go to bed at night, and see how clear it looks in the morning. Tomatoes are also a great acne home remedy, and can be used in the same way.

Other effective homemade acne remedies include garlic, which can be applied directly to spots and pimples. An application of mint juice is also helpful in treating skin conditions, including acne, insect bites, and even cuts and scrapes.

Application of a paste of gram flour mixed with a pinch of turmeric helps in drying and treating pimples. Let it dry and then wash off. Apply on alternate days and see for yourself.
Raw papaya can also help reduce the swelling and soreness of those angry, sore pimples, as can a paste made from the peel of oranges. There are multitudes of products available right from your kitchen that can be used as an acne home remedy. While applying face packs and pastes on your face see that you wash off only after it dries of completely, to get the best effect.
While many of these ingredients are the basis for the expensive products that you will find at the drugstore, using them in a natural form can take a little more time. But remember that these natural acne home remedies can also be gentler to your skin than their manufactured counterparts, which can ultimately have a more healthful effect on the condition of your skin.
Your kitchen contains many products that could be your acne home remedy. If you are fed up trying those sometimes harsh, highly processed skincare products, then a homemade acne remedy might be the refreshing change that makes a real difference to your skin.

An acne home remedy may work better than you thought! So why wait? Just try any of these acne home remedies and feel the difference.

ACNE AND SELF CONFIDENCE

People have a tendency to laugh at a person with acne feeling that “I don’t have this problem.” An anxiety or ‘Fetish’- which means that a subject of addiction or continuous attention or regard which makes a person irritated with the thought of acne develops due to this phenomenon. Two clinical forms of an acne fetish include excoriated acne and imagined acne.
1. Excoriated acne occurs when an acne patient continues to pick at or squeeze acne formations on their face, never allowing the skin to heal. This constant picking aggravates the acne condition and often times leaves severe scarring.
2. Imagined acne happens when a patient is convinced she has acne but in reality does not. This person may have one small pimple and blow the existence of the pimple out of proportion and view it as a severe case of acne.
Underlying both of these acne fetishes is the fear of being ugly, or dysmorphophobia. It's an easy psychological state to acquire in a society that increasingly places more value on superficial looks than personal traits.
Steps to combating an acne fetish include: Spending less time self-critiquing in front of the mirror; and embellishing your talents.
Even a hiatus from mirror visits may help an acne fetish. If you do look in the mirror, focus on elements of your face besides the zits. For instance, look at the color of your eyes or the size of your lips, without criticizing of course. You may have lovely eyelashes or the perfect eyebrows. Whenever you look in the mirror stop making negative judgments about yourself. If you do find yourself ridiculing yourself and wanting to burst a zit in a rushed desire for clear skin, just remind yourself that every zit that you prematurely pop may encourage the formation of 3 completely new zits.
Focus on your greatest assets as a person, or cultivate new skills. You may be an awesome guitar player or fabulous singer, give yourself recognition for your strengths. Do something that you've always wanted to do, but did not do because you felt having acne precludes you from this activity.
In the final analysis, healing an acne fetish starts with recognizing that this condition has serious medical repercussions. An acne fetish can debilitate one's self-esteem while encouraging needless facial scarring. If you think you have an acne fetish, you can get help from a qualified dermatologist, psychologists or just talk it over with some really cool and understanding friends.

TREATING ACNE

With such a busy life, one hardly gets time to take care of oneself and its only one day in a week probably, if you are employed full time (or in certain cases 2 days the most), to actually sit back at home and catch up on some extra sleep hours. I can’t say for everyone, but that’s how it’s for me atleast. Together with rest and relaxation, what is actually very important is to take care of ourselves.

I stay in a hostel and as usual for any holiday, I was busy with washing and cleaning and such stuffs, when someone knocked my door. Actually these were my friends staying next door. I was like ‘hey, I am not interested in chit chatting right now, I mean early morning, I have lots of work to be finished before noon (it was around 9 am and for me this was still early morning). We can talk later perhaps in the afternoon or in evening.’ But they were here not for chatting, but to ask if I had soframycin ointment and can lend it. One of my friend had a presentation on Tuesday and she was like ‘ see dear, I got this big pimple on my forehead, it came from no where and now its simply not going and its paining too, what should I do? Someone told me this ointment works so I thought to ask if someone has it.’ I looked up and yes this one was really quite big. Fortunately I was having the ointment and I gave her and she went happily. Again in the evening she came to return the ointment as she had bought one for herself. While going she asked me how was I able to maintain such a clear skin? She said she has tried everything and nothing actually works for her as these pimples and acne keep coming again and again. I gave her some tips and ideas to try out and see the difference.

Acne as such does not interfere with your normal life; the only thing is that it makes your face as well the other infected areas look bad and sometimes really ugly. It causes lot of embarrassment and makes you feel low and over conscious of your appearance. When I was fighting with this disease I was like, why, why only with me? Why not the girl sitting next to me in bus? Why doesn’t everyone suffer from this? I had questions and questions but no answers. I felt simply horrible going out and meeting people, because the fist thing anyone sees when he/she looks at you is your face. All I can say, I really suffered a lot, more so mentally and emotionally. But at last I solved this acne problem, and I thought it would be great to share my discovery with you. I was sitting all alone when I suddenly thought why not write some of the tips and methods I followed, for all you people out there, who are suffering from acne and need some quick remedy. So I decided and here are some of the tips to get rid of acne and maintain clear skin.

1. Drink lots and lots of water (atleast 8-12 glasses of water). But I wouldn't recommend you going overboard because drinking too much water will also flush out electrolyte minerals out of your system (which is not good). Drink only enough to see that your urine is mostly clear, which is probably much more than what you're drinking now. Cut down on soft drinks and caffeine and instead drink water or fruit juice in its place. This will help you flush off the toxins from your body
2. See that you are not constipated. Have a fiber rich diet, a diet that is rich in fresh fruits and vegetables. Acne occurs when your body contains more toxics than your kidneys and bowels can remove.
3. Have good eating habits. What I mean is just eat healthy, avoid junk foods, oily and spicy stuffs and try having a well balanced diet.
4. If you have acne and pimples, DON’T EVER TRY SQUEEZING IT. Pricking and squeezing pimples leads to scarring as well as the spread of infection. Let them dry on their own, they’ll go in a couple of days leaving your skin marks free.
5. If you have oily skin with lots of pimples and acne, apply mud paste (multani mitti). You can also try applying no marks face pack. Believe me it actually helps. Alternatively, you can try the following method, I personally have not tried this but some people claim it actually works wonders for their skin. All you need is nutmeg and milk.
Grind nutmeg with unboiled milk and apply on affected area. This remedy is supposed to works as magic making pimples to disappear without leaving a mark.
I have found 2 very useful sites which provide valuable information to treat acne quickly, perhaps you may like to have a look. To visit these sites you can simply click on the link below:

ACNE: WHAT IT IS?

Acne vulgaris (the most common form of acne) is a chronic skin disease. It is the disease of the sebaceous gland which can be either inflammatory or non inflammatory. Usually severe forms of acne are inflammatory. Acne is most common in puberty; about 85% of teenagers suffer from this disease. Age group between 12-20 years is the most susceptible, but acne is not just restricted to adolescence, even adults between the age groups of 30 and 60 years are seen to suffer with acne.
Acne can manifest itself in either of the following forms:
Comedones (which are caused by blockade of pores)
Whiteheads
Blackheads
Pimples (zits)
Pustules
Nodules and cysts (more severe acne)
Acne rosacea is another form of acne which occurs mostly in adults and is more commonly observed in women. Other than these two forms of acne, there are some very severe forms of acne. These are:
Acne conglobata
Acne fulminans
Gram negative folliculitis
Nodulocystic acne
While there are many trigger factors that lead to acne, the most common reason is the over production of sebum or oil.
Sebaceous glands (oil producing glands) are present just beneath the surface of the skin. These glands produce sebum (or oil) which helps in moisturizing the skin and maintaining the softness of hair. These glands are located in each hair follicle under the skin and are found in large numbers on the face, back, chest, and shoulders. In certain circumstances the cells which are closer to the surface of the skin block the openings of these glands leading to accumulation of sebum under the skin surface. This leads to proliferation of bacteria that are already present in everyone and as such cause no harm. But this multiplication process of bacteria starts making the condition worse.
In certain conditions the production of sebum itself increases so much that it cannot be drained out through the pores efficiently. This excess sebum combines with the dead cells that are shred from the linings of the follicles and forms a plug, or comedo (or comedones), that blocks the pore, which is not usually seen.
In majority of cases the acne problem starts during puberty when the body starts producing large amounts of androgens (the male hormone). These androgens cause higher production of sebum, which in turn may lead to acne flare ups.

DON’T LET ACNE TAKE OVER ON YOUR SELF-CONFIDENCE

Who doesn’t want smooth and flawless skin? Well every one just loves to have clear skin, in the most natural way. But this hectic life, with constant stress, pollution, inadequate hygiene and junk foods show up its effects, giving rise to unwanted facial eruptions, breakouts, pus and what not.
We have to face it, if you look fully packed up with acne, people are likely to be turned off, you will receive less attention than someone whole has a clear glowing healthy skin. This sounds bad but as you would have noticed yourself, this does happen, atleast the very first time you meet someone, after all first impression is the last impression. The first thing anyone looks at when you meet him/her is your face, so the importance of looking good cannot be underestimated at all.
Acne vulgaris, yes this is the major culprit, our common enemy. How much ever beautiful you may be with well-structured face, eyes, nose, lips, fair skinned or dark toned sharp featured face, if you are struck with acne your beauty is in danger.
It’s really pathetic to say that even though medical science has progressed so much but we still don’t have a permanent cure for acne. So what I mean to say is that you can only prevent acne, you can help get rid of it but that doesn’t mean it is forever, for it keeps coming back again and again. The moment you get lethargic in taking proper care of your body, you know what may happen next.
But don’t be depressed for I am going to actually walk you step by step to achieve the clear glowing face you always wanted.
I am saying this with so much confidence as I personally have experienced this trauma, and now after years of researching on this I have found some simple methods and daily care regimen, which have helped me regain my clear flawless face.
